Participants of Samaritan Works, a faith-based sober living program, recently placed a “Blessing Box” outside their office at 315 East Court St. Executive Director Tricia Alloway stated that giving back to the community is an essential part of recovery. “Recognizing where we have been and where we are heading is part of the journey.” Participants put together the box and painted it. The box will be filled with free hats, gloves, food, and other free items for those who might need a helping hand. Director Alloway added that a prayer request box is also inside the cabinet. Prayer requests should be completed and dropped in the mailbox on our door. Participants will pray for those requesting it! Samaritan Works programming encourages those involved to pay forward a little of what has been given. The public is welcome to take items as needed. Match Day 2022

Last year, Match Day raised $658,831 for our local community. We need your help to make this happen again!
 
Generosity made greater.  For one day, every dollar given to 25 local nonprofits will be matched up to $5,000 per organization from a match pool of $125,000, making every gift go further.  Generosity brings people of all backgrounds together and provides everyone the power to make a positive difference.
 
Everyone can be a philanthropist.  Giving together is what this event is all about, because gifts of all sizes add up!  This is your invitation to support community-wide efforts, because you can be a philanthropist too.
 
Single day, lasting impact.  We are working to raise significant funds that will be returned to each participating charity to do good right here in Shelby County.  GIVING TOGETHER HAS A GREATER IMPACT!
 
Local investment, effective solutions.  Match Day is organized by the Community Foundation of Shelby County to benefit organizations who chose us to administer their reserve funds.  Your gifts help local nonprofits you know and trust.
