As I sit here reflecting on the past six months, I have been the Executive Director. I am so very thankful for the “gifts” I have received since taking this opportunity. I have been blessed with the support of my family, friends, and my board of directors. I have also been blessed to be a part of the men and women in our homes’ journeys toward sober lifestyles. Our homes are currently housing 12 participants, and we just graduated three from our program this week! Over the past months, participants have been working hard. Most are employed, and all of them are taking an active role in giving back to those around us. I am constantly reminded of the GOOD in people. We recently added a “Box of Blessings” to our front office. The women decorated the box, and the men took part in placing it outside and have been taking turns adding items. News traveled through the community, and we have had several from the area bring things to us to add to our box. Each day we check the Blessing Box to see what has been taken and what has been given. I am touched by the number of things being left for others! We have celebrated Thanksgiving family style and will celebrate Christmas in a few days. As we look to next year, we are adding classes at the office, we have two new Program Advocates working for us, and we look forward to even more exciting further support for our participants! Samaritan Works offers the gifts of acceptance, forgiveness, friendship, family, and, most importantly, the gift of sobriety! We provide faith-filled sober living, and anyone who comes into our homes will experience this firsthand. This Christmas season, I have many blessings to be thankful for. Have a Merry Christmas all, and a Happy New Year! Tricia
