Samaritan Works RECEIVES $250,000 IN FUNDING TO SUPPORT Expansion Program for addition of Level 1 Recovery Homes Sidney, OH — Samaritan Works has received $250,000 in grant funding to support its efforts in helping fight addiction by expanding services with the addition of Level 1 Certified Recovery Homes, in Shelby County, announced today. The grant from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation will go toward the purchase and certification of Level 1 status new recovery homes in Shelby County Ohio, Executive Director Tricia Anderson said. “I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to expand services of Samaritan Works with this additional Level 1 housing. Level 1 Housing is defined as peer-led, democratically run homes that include community/house meetings, on-site and off-site support groups and outside clinical services. We see the need for this type of housing with our graduates of our program. Our graduates often stay in our other two homes longer than they would like to simply because they are not able to find affordable housing, and they desire the sober living environment to continue their journey of recovery.” Said Tricia Anderson. The grant is part of an inaugural round of approximately $51 million in funding made available by the Foundation as part of its mission to combat the opioid epidemic by supporting prevention, treatment and recovery programs and services in our communities. The grant money was funded by 55 percent of settlement funds that Ohio is receiving from the pharmaceutical industry as a consequence of its role in the national opioid epidemic.
